Reference letters

I value and strive to support my students and TropEco’s members to progress in their careers, and providing letters of recommendation is part of this process. To ensure I can support you in the best way possible, please carefully read the points below.

 

Eligibility criteria:

You must fulfil at least one of the points below:

  1. Conducted work within TropEco Lab for at least one full teaching block/term (e.g. practical projects, literature reviews, internships, and visiting postgraduate students); and
  2. Had Dr França as your (main/co) tutor, mentor, supervisor, or graduate advisory committee for at least one year.

 

Other key information

  • You must request the letter at least three weeks before the due date
  • You must provide (a) the website/job advertisement of the position you are applying for, (b) a summary (e.g. bullet points) of the key skills you have and believe are well aligned with the position), and a recent resume/CV, transcript and personal statement;
  • If time permits, I might request your feedback in the letter before submitting it.
  • It is always your responsibility to check the status of your letter, and I kindly ask you to do so at least 3 days before the deadline.
